Honor in the Air Presentation to Mauston WI Legion Post 81

exterior of Mauston WI Legion Post 81 building

Earlier in May, Penny and I had the privilege and pleasure of attending the meeting of the Mauston American Legion, Post 81, at the invitation of Past Commander Rick Miller. The Post is a lovely building in a beautiful setting and their “Wall of Heroes” is an impressive tribute to so many Mauston area veterans.

Other guests present included the Juneau County Veterans Service Officer and the Juneau County American Legion Commander. In addition to Mauston American Legion members and Auxiliary, there were also representatives present from Posts in Elroy, New Lisbon, Wonewoc, and Camp Douglas. All of us enjoyed the wonderful buffet hosted by the Auxiliary members.

Our presentation about Captain Scott Alwin was warmly received and there were questions and good conversations following the talk. Penny and I presented Post Commander Peck with a framed copy of the “Honor in the Air” poster as a memento of our visit.

We love going to the individual posts to speak about this documentary project and share the story of another great Wisconsin hero, our brother Scott Alwin. It gives us the opportunity to share intimate stories of how he went from being one of 16 preacher’s kids raised in rural Wisconsin to an American military hero. We would love to come to your post too. There is never a charge for our presentations. If you are interested, let any of us know and we’ll arrange a convenient date. You can call Pamela at 715-675-4115 or text 608-436-0698 to set up a presentation.
